The ozone air purification systems produce negative ions that attach to dust mites, mold spores, smoke, cat dander, skin, and other airborne pollutants and drag them from the air. The same phenomenon is at work near running water, such as waterfalls and rivers, and makes the surrounding air feel fresh.
There is no filter in our air purification systems to be changed or replaced. The devices’ fans are not there to bring dirty air into them, but rather to send the negatively charged ions out to destroy the pollutants and odors at their source. Our air purifiers work without a filter because any odors and gasses in the air are oxidized and transformed into harmless water vapor and carbon dioxide molecules while the larger particles of dust, dander and pollen fall to the floor where they are vacuumed or mopped up with normal household cleaning.
The negatively charged ions which are released into the air by the systems are electrically charged particles that are also created in nature; they are completely imperceptible and harmless to humans. In fresh country air, ion levels are normally from 1,000 to 4,000 ions per cubic centimeter dispersed in a ratio of five positive to every four negative charges. Indoors however, such as in a typical office environment, there could be as little as 20 negatively charged ions per cubic centimeter.
