Do you know how a water purification system works? Our PurATron Aqua 2000 system works in a very natural way.

There is a five step treatment process for tap water to go through in order to protect your family from the harmful contaminants within.

1. Water entering the system is passed through a pre-filter cartridge. The 5 micron filter is high dirt capacity and clarifies the water by removing debris, sediment, turbidity and particulates.

2. The pre-filtered water is then saturated with ozone to start the oxidization process to remove microorganisms. The ozone itself is beneficial in that it reduces bad odors, which improves the flavor of your drinking water.

3. Next, the water is exposed to intense UV light.  This process is highly effective in destroying or inactivating a wide range of the more resistant viruses, bacteria, and parasites.

4. An instantaneous reaction begins when the ozone and UV light are combined.  Known as photo or advanced oxidation, it creates a hydroxyl radical which speeds up the oxidation process up to 1,000 times.

5. Finally, the water passes through a one micron, activated carbon filter that removes dead microorganisms (killed during the prior steps) to further improve the overall flavor.  Likewise, chlorine, organic and inorganic chemicals, and heavy metals like lead are removed from your drinking water.  During this final stage residual ozone is converted back into oxygen.
